Bueno

Well it was great to see and talk to you guys on Christmas, sorry for the technical difficulties, but it all worked out ok in the end.   and sorry that i can´t really communicate in english anymore.......Mom really i beg you to change the date of my homecoming talk. there is NO way that i´ll be able to talk in english in church 2 days after i get back. it will be the most embarrasing thing of my life.......if you want me to give my whole talk in spanish. great, i´ll do it without hesitation.

I really said all there is to say on Christmas....so,
Feliz Navidad to those who i didn´t see on christmas, i hope you enjoyed celebrating that special day.  Thanks for all the gifts/cards, i love you all so much!

Andando en un trio.

well, life still is just as crazy as before.  haha, i thought it´d be a bit calmer this week but...no.  Chile and its strikes.  So Hermana Sambrano left on Tuesday, so we were gonna be in a trio for 2 days while we waited for the new companion of Hermana Talimatasi who was gonna arrive on thursday.  we had everything worked out, that we were gonna work in Coyhaique in my sector one day and the next in Puerto Aysen and then go pick up the new greenie who´s coming.   Well, It just so happened that the day she was gonna arrive, Chile´s airlines entered in a strike. So, pobrecita new companion got stuck in Puerto Montt.  So we´ve been in a trio all week long.  Its actually a lot of fun being in a trio, all the lessons are 3X more powerful haha.   but its been super hard to work in our sectors. we were in Coyhaique 2 days and Aysen 2 days.  then for Saturday and Sunday we were gonna run into a bunch of problems cuz we both had important appointments and had to bring people to church the next day.  So, i got permission from the APs to stay with a member.  So Rocio became my companion for 2 days, she´s already working on her mission papers so it was a great experience for her to be a missionary for 2 days :)

We still don´t know when Hna Talimatasi´s new companion´s gonna arrive, apparently the strike ended but now they´re so backed up, we´re just hoping that its before Christmas.

yeah, so Christmas...we actually don´t have much planned.....i actually have no idea what we´re gonna do. hehe (way to plan ahead eh?)

Ok, so, On christmas day i´m gonna call you guys on Skype (i believe mom´s skype) at 6:00pm CHILE TIME (i´m not gonna do the math, you can figure out what time that is in Utah.)  So be ready!  (lindz, i hope you´re ready to be my traductor ;) hehe   btw, i´ve been practicing my english this week, there´s a million tourists here!

i hope you enjoy your Christmas! I love you all tons, Talk to you soon!

Quick trip to Puerto Montt

Well, this week flew by, we didn´t have a moment to stop and think.  i´ll admit i´ve been a bit stressed just by the fact that my companion leaves tomorrow and my new and last companion arrives.  I know all will be fine, but honestly i´ve come to love Hna Sambrano with all my heart.  She was a bit different from my other companions and i for that we´re best of friends instead of just companions. It may sound strange, but we fought like Emma and I do, and for that, those rough moments that we had to work out, we ended up being stronger than before.  I´m gonna miss her a ton. :/

So we traveled to Puerto Montt, which completely exhausted me, traveling there and back, i just want to sleep today haha.  but it was great to be back in puerto montt.  But it was interesting too, being back there made me realize how blessed i am to be in Coyhaique. haha, i love puerto montt, but i had almost forgotten how many people bug us on the street.  Coyhaique is a lot more tranquilo.
the Conference was amazing, exactly what i needed to gain the animo to finish my mission strong.  (it was amazing but filled with way too many embarrasing moments, i was not in the right mind, only things like that would happen to me when i´m in front of a general authority, i´ll tell what happened when i get home, its too embarrasing to tell in an email...)

I got to see Gina!!!!!!   Her son Franco is gonna be baptized on Christmas day!  It was so great to see her, and to see she´s still strong in the church.
I think the other reason i´ve been so stressed this week is for all the information the members told be of what´s happened in my ward there. Some very strong families are passing for very hard trials, it was just too much to hear. :/
But on the bright side, i saw my friends in Puerto Montt and enjoyed spending time with them :)  oh, and I saw Hna SarceƱo in the conference!!!!! she´s doing great, she sends her love and Thanks for the packages and everything you´ve done for her :)

So we returned from Puerto Montt on Thursday and had to quickly plan the baptism.  Alejandro and Izidora were baptized on saturday by their grandpa who is Patriarch.  It was so special, izidora looked like an angel in her white dress :)

Well, i hope all is well! Wish me luck this week with my new companion (hna Caldera from Guatamala!)

i love you all!

Why is it never easy.

Wow, with every baptism, there´s always something that happens!  So, we had the baptismal interview for Alejandro and Izidora yesterday.  So, our District leader (who, i´m sorry, but always gets under my skin)  gave the interview, finished, signed all the papers saying that Alejandro is ready to be baptized.  well, that night he calls us telling us he thought a bit more about it and that Alejandro (only 10yrs old!) isn´t ready to be baptized cuz he hasn´t read very much in the Book of Mormon.  So he´s telling us to put his baptismal date for next week.  well, normally i´d be ok with that, BUT, alejandro´s grandpa who is patriarch already bought his plane ticket and is coming out in 2 days only to baptize Alejandro and my companion finishes her mission this week.  So i explained the situation to the elder, telling him that its a bit complicated to change the date and that the last thing we want is for his family to be annoyed by this inconvenience and change the heart of his dad who also is investigating the church.  The only reason this elder had was that Alejandro hadn´t read much in the book of mormon, but yes has the desires, yes knows the lessons and everything.    Good grief, i didn´t read the book of mormon until i was 14!   So we talked on the phone for 1 hr, me giving all the reasons why he should be baptized this week and not next week.  (it honestly is the fear that his family would be offended and we´d lose a whole family in the church cuz his dad and 2 siblings are also investigating the church).     so anyway, we finish this long and unsuccessful conversation and milagrously right after we hung up the AP called us for something.  so we asked him and he told us that Alejandro is gonna be baptized this Saturday, that we can´t deny him the opportunity to be baptized only cuz he didn´t read more than 1 chapter.  THANK YOU APS!!!!    yeah, so that´s my rant for today. thanks for listening.  haha,  its just been a really stressful week if you didn´t notice during my rant.
but all is good in zion!   Tomorrow we´re off to Puerto Montt! It should be good for me to take 2 days to recharge.

well, i love you all! Enjoy the holidays!

A wedding, baptism, and unexpected phone call.

Feliz Thanksgiving!!!  It was quite a different thanksgiving for me.  haha, my thanksgiving dinner consisted in baby carrots and a crossaint. i think i actually lost weight this thanksgiving ;)

So, i´ll start with the unexpected phone-call and end with the happy news.  So, we were about to leave the house when suddenly our phone rings, it was a number that was unrecognized, the hna sambrano answered and it was a guy asking for me, when i took the phone, he told me that it was Elder Medina (aka, the elder from my 1st district that decided to stay in his mission)  I couldn´t have been more surprised to receive a call from him. So anyway, he tells me that he fractured his foot and has to return home for it to heal. :/   as he tried explaining more of course the phone randomly dies.  So i´m left without anwers, just super sad knowing that my good friend has to return home 1 year early from his mission. :(

But, i didn´t have time to linger in my disappointment, because....We were leaving the house to go to Jorge and Veronica´s wedding!!!!! :D
This week was crazy, opposition in all things exists, the government here is ridiculous, we didn´t know if they were going to be able to be married this week or not until the day before. and the funny (or not-so-funny in the moment) thing was that we were waiting all week to hear, and so Veronica calls us on wednesday telling us that they were going to be married on friday, we were so excited, and then the next morning they call to tell us that They started another strike and that the government buildings were closed again.    I´ve never prayed so hard in my life.  Finally after all our prayers and fasts, On Friday somehow everything worked out, and we went to their wedding!!!!   and Saturday Jorge was baptized!!! :D   It truly was a miracle.

I´ve never been happier than i was yesterday, sitting in church, next to Familia Melehauchun (they actually came to church with us!!!!!! :D   and watching Jorge recieve the gift of the holy ghost,  pure happiness :)

So basically, my life is perfect right now.  and its only getting better.  next week we have a conference with a member of the 70, so we get to travel to Puerto Montt!!! i´m gonna be in my sector for 3 days :D

i´m glad all is going well at home. Cuidense esta semana!  i love you all!

-Hna Hebdon

p.s.  mom - just a few notes, when i get home can it just be intermediate family in the airport? (and emma obviously)
and for my homecoming please don´t worry about putting on something grand with a bunch of food, i´m good with something small and simple...

i really do want to move to Chile one day...

This is the Familia Melehauchun!!!, pricilia, Cony and Barbara (we didn´t plan the colors, we just arrived and all happened to be in the same color :)

I'm still here!

Haha, only lindsey would miss her flight ;)   that ruined my day, i literally was counting down time on tuesday, 1 hour left, 30 minutes, ¨She´s home!¨ ¨what´s my family doing right now?¨ (i´m not trunky at all ;P )my companion was probably super annoyed. and after all that it was for nothing! because she didn´t arrive until Thursday. hahah bien.

so, Lindsey, one rule, you can´t get married until i´m home!!! so take it a bit slower would ya? ;)

ok, so this week we helped a sister paint her house, we arrived in a skirts cuz we didn´t have time to return home to change, so the sister lended me an old shirt but i had nothing to cover my skirt, but figuring we were painting the walls white and my skirt is the black and white one, no one would notice a few drops of white paint.  so we started painting.   i was doing so well until i climbed up on the table to reach a part of the wall.  when i tried to step down, my foot got caught in my skirt, pulling me down suddenly and i went tumbling to the ground, smacking into the freshly painted wall that i just painted, leaving half my skirt coated in white paint. hahah, so much for my great idea.    that might just be the one thing that i´m most excited for when i finish my mission, NO MORE SKIRTS!!! :)

This was a fairly stressful week, but all worth the pain.  Its the weirdest thing i´ve ever done in the mission:  Plan a marraige proposal.   yup, so if all goes well, Veronica and Jorge will be married and baptized this week (we´re still waiting to hear from the government)   so Jorge is a bit shy and just not the one to take iniciative, but in this case, Veronica told us that if Jorge couldn´t ask her to marry him she wouldn´t marry him. so thats when my companion and i decided to interfere.  so we planned a romantic dinner surprise for Veronica, Jorge liked the idea so we planned and did everything, he just had to show up in his suit and tie and ask her to marry him.  My companion did all the decoration and i made the dinner (chicken alfredo, it turned out amazing, and its something they´ve never eaten here before :)  the night turned out perfect and Veronica was more than happy.   i´m just glad that everything turned out after running around asking for help from members and last minute they always cancel and everything, but the important thing is that they´re gonna get married!!!!!!!!

Also, Valeska is determined to return to church and her 2 youngest kids are gonna be baptized Dec 12th!!!

The Lord is working miracles in this sector! i´m so blessed to be here for the last 2 months of my mission, there is a LOT of work to do here!

I love you all!!!

Hola from Hermana Hebdon La Primera.

Yeah, I´m Hermana Hebdon la primera now :)

So i´ve recieved bits and pieces of all the news that´s going on in the world right now and i decided i´m content living in my bubble here in my mission.

Well, we´ve had good days and tough days this week.  So 2 months ago as we were walking to an appointment both my companion and i felt to knock on this one door, so we stopped and this lady opens the door, she was in a hurry but told us that she knows a lot about the church and to pass by another day.  Normally a contact like that we´d try passing by 2-3 times more and if they never answer or never let us enter we drop them.  But we passed by 6+ times, but felt super strongly to keep trying.  So this week we passed by again and her whole family was home and they let us in.  Turns out that Valeska, the mom has been a member her whole life but 12 yrs ago went inactive after her mom died. Her husband and 3 kids aren´t members but they all want to be baptized!!!  Its amazing how many families that we´re finding now that have desires to follow Christ and be baptized :)

If all goes well Veronica and Jorge will be married Nov 27th and Jorge will be baptized the 28th :)

Basically, the work is amazing in this sector!

Random story:  So we´re sitting in a lesson and as i´m talking i´m petting this cat that decided to sit in my lap.  The cat starts licking my hand and it felt cool so i let him keep licking me and suddenly, CHOMP, he bites my poor finger.  My companion just saw me flinch, and i kept talking calmly as i covered my hand trying not to let the blood drip on anything, so i finish testifying, ¨in the name of Jesus Chist amen..... can i use your bathroom?¨  and without them seeing the blood i get into the bathroom and clean up my wound.  haha, i didn´t want to tell this kind old couple that their cat bit my finger, so as we´re leaving i smoothly ask if their cat had to be vaccinated, they said yes.  whew, well at least i don´t have to worry about recieving 5 shots for this animal bite.   my luck is amazing.

Well, i´m loving it here!  its kinda sad, i don´t feel like its Christmas at all. i´m trying to get into the Christmas spirit but its kinda hard when its 90 degrees outside. haha.

Enjoy having lindsey home!!!

Bien, so this week our summer started.  i´m not gonna say anything cuz i know Lindz is dying up there in Peru.  But I have gotten a lot of sun this week and it didn´t matter how much sunscreen i used, i still burned. dad should research it but something´s weird with the ozone layer here so the sun is 10x stronger here.
So also, this week i got sick again (or maybe it was just too much sun...?)  haha, i was convinced it was just allergies but everyone touched my forehead and is all ¨you´re burning up!!!¨  and i´m all ¨no, i´m sunburnt!¨ but they wouldn´t take that for an answer and maybe I just let the fact that everyone was telling me that i was sick that it went to my head and the next morning i couldn´t get out of bed. but it didn´t last long. i´m all good now.   the only funny thing was trying to teach with my head buzzing and a bit loopy.  hahah   during the lesson, as we´re presenting the book of mormon i try explaining how the book of mormon and the bible support each other.   so i say ¨el libro de mormon y la biblia se oponen¨ (the BOM and the Biblia oppose each other) instead of ¨se apoyan¨ (support each other).   whoops, just a small mistake.....

So mom, familia Melehuachun are doing really well, we invited them for baptism and the 2 daughter already know that the church is true and the book of mormon and they want to be baptized but they want the support of their parents (namely their dad who says they have to be responsible enough to know that if they´re going to make this decision they can´t change their mind after and stop going to church)   so his worry is a good thing, basically we just have to show him that they´re gonna be dedicated.  The only thing that´s complicated, we feel that Coni doesn´t want to go to church because her mom´s not gonna go with her.  Her mom is inactive, but she goes to church when she visits Temuco.  She doesn´t go here because she feels offended that not one member accompanied her when her dad died.  But we have a lot of faith in this family :)

awkward story of the week......Dad, i need help with family history!  so it was District conference right, and i´m sitting there contently, listening as my mission presidente is giving his address, and suddenly he asks if the missionaries from Utah have pioneer ancestors, he looks directly at me and so i nod my head in response (but not quite sure in my head)   and he suddenly calls me to the pulit.  I about died.  So he asks me to share the story of my pioneer ancestors.  So i get up, racking my brain for a story but its only been 5 years or more since i heard the story of James Ritter Hebdon and to be quite frank 5 years ago Family history was not important to me at all so i didn´t really pay much attention to the story.   So in front of everyone i tell the bits and pieces that came to my mind (that i really hope are true becuase it might just be that my bad memory made it up....) I ended up just testifying of the pioneers and thanks to their sacrifice i have the gospel in my life. so i sit down and my companion tells me that that was super good and i´m all ¨yeah, i just hope its true!¨   haha and after the young women in my ward are all, ¨i didn´t know you could get any redder from your sunburn, but you were a pure tomato red as you were talking.¨ hahah, just great.
so dad, what´s the story about James Ritter Hebdon again?  (at least i remembered his name)

The Paro offically has ended!!!!!   so my email 3 weeks ago was a lie. The elders lied to us about the strike (hey i remember the word for paro!)   but now it really has ended and Jorge and Veronica are gonna be married!!!! we´re helping Jorge find a temporary ring and propose :D   (it was super embarrasing today trying on wedding rings in the streets. and of course the elder walked by right while i was trying the rings on.)
but we´re so excited!!!! we´re planning a wedding!!!! :D

yup, and that´s my week! i love you all!

Surprise Baptism!

Ok, that Halloween party beats all, can they put that on again next year???

Well this week was one of the best and yet most stressful weeks of my mission!  Monday night when we visited with Nefi and his family (nefi is a niƱo, 10 yrs old, his parents are starting to return to church after many years)  Nefi has had a baptism date for Nov 7th for the past month. when we visited with them, his parents told us they both work that day and it´d have to be a different day, when we asked Nefi when he wanted to be baptized he said as soon as possible.  So i look at my companion, the wheels spinning in both of our heads, and we ask, ¨do you want to be baptized this saturday?¨  He eagerly agreed and the adventure began.   So we made sure with our District president and LZs that it was ok and started planning the baptism.
So, then 2 days before the baptism, after our district meeting our ZLs tell us that they talked with the APs, cuz the mission is being very careful about baptizing kids when their parents aren´t active in the church, and they told us that his parents have to be completly reactivated in the church for him to be baptized and the 3 requirements for that include 1. They have to have visiting and home teachers, 2. They have to have callings and 3. they have to pay their tithing.   So they tell us this 2 days before the baptism, (i was about to murder them, they knew 1 month ago that Nefi was preparing to be baptized, why they didn´t tell us weeks ago i´ll never know)   So as they tell us this we kinda just sat there in shock for 3 minutes, me imagining how we were supposed to tell poor Nefi that he can´t be baptized this week.  Then Hna Sambrano and i left to room to conspire and figure out a plan, we both agreed that Nefi sĆ o sĆ was going to be baptized in 2 days and that we could figure those 3 things out in 5 hrs (we literally had 5 hrs before the planned baptismal interview so we had to figure things out fast)   So we re-enter the room where the elders were waiting, but we entered completely changed, now smiling and happy, only filled with complete determination.  the elders were super confused as we calmly said goodbye then turned and ran out of the church, me snatching 2 tithing slips as we left,  to get going on things.    So to make a super long story a bit shorter, that whole day was filled with running around, calling people and after doing everything in our power to complete the 3 requirements but failing with the 3rd one cuz we don´t have power over that, i called the AP (which just happens to be my X-ZL) and convinced him to let us have this baptism.  After all the stress, he finally gave the ok.   We had talked to our district president and he truly believes that nefi´s parents are reactivating in the church so he was on our side (that helped a ton).

So After the crazy week, we had a beautiful baptism!  Nefi´s sister, cousin and I sang, and all of Nefi´s family was there.

Today was transfers but Hna Sambrano and I both stay here.  we couldn´t be more excited, now its 99% sure that i´m going to finish my mission here cuz this is Hna Sambrano´s last transfer so i obviously have to stay when she leaves.  There is so much work in this sector and we are finding so many amazing familys.

Random fact, I have a new dream for my life...I want to move to the country, (or maybe Coyhaique) and live out in the rolling green hills, surrounded by snow-topped mountains and have a beatiful garden and animals and just be a farmers wife ;)  its so tranquilo and beautiful!

whelp, that´s my week :)  Life is great!  Mom, dad, you have to come to Coyhaique some day, there´s no place more beautiful!

love,
Hna Aubrey Hebdon

Bueno, no tengo mucho a decir

I can´t even believe another week has already flown by. Pobrecita Lindsey, its just days ticking down now. haha

Well, we had our international food activity this week, Its interesting, but i realized we really do have a mixture of everything in the US, all the food they made is food that they marvelled at and i´m all, my mom makes that too! hehe, and that´s what makes the US great. un mezcla de todo.  They love to make fun of the US and our ¨typical food¨ they all laughed when the stand for the US presented hot dogs and hambergers but within 30 seconds (no joke)  all the food in the stand for US was gone, they secretely do love us. :)

Miracle of the week, So the first day i arrived in Coyhaique we went to visit a family that lives on the border of the town, next to the start of rolling green fields.  But, there are a few more houses before the country.  So ever since the first day i had the strongest urge to go knock on doors in those few houses, i thought it was just cuz i wanted to get closer to the view of the country, so this week finally i told my companion i wanted to knock on those doors, so we start walking to those houses and we see a lady weeding her garden (side note: did you know that dandelions are flowers here and the people actually love them? weeds? i think not! i like that idea, i´m never pulling dandelions out of our garden again)    anyway, so we see this lady and we both felt to walk over and talk to her, so we begin talking and present ourselves as missionaries, and she´s all ¨yeah i know, my daughter is on a mission in colombia¨  and we´re all ¨oh how cool, for what church, jehovas witness, catholic...¨ and she´s all no, for your church, the mormon church.   we were shocked cuz the ward told us a missionary hasn´t left from this sector in 15 years.  so we talked more with her and it turns out that her daughter left from her ward where she was studying, but returns in december, and her dad and little sister aren´t members.   we returned teh other day and met the dad, he´s super receptive and said himself he´s not sure why he hasn´t been baptized yet!!!
wow, k, there was definitely a reason we felt so strongly to walk over to that sector and that we found this family.  they´re ready to be baptized.  that´ll be our gift to their daughter in Colombia, we´re gonna baptize her family before she gets back :)

whelp, i love you all tons!

P-Day Adventures

Well we had quite the adventure today. i´ve never been so exhausted!  So dad, i don´t blame you for forgetting your flight and all the other things that happened, cuz i think we´re on the same page here. haha.  so what were planning on doing today... we wanted to go out to the country and sit down in a patch of grass and read the book of mormon all day long (cuz we have a new challenge to read it in less than 3 months)  so it´d be a day super relaxing.  well, we made the mistake of asking one of the YW in the branch where we could go, she told us the best place would be the reserva that´s really close, she told us we could take a taxi up which would only be 1500 pesos (aka, about $3.00)  so we buy the stuff to have a picnik and take our taxi up, I gave him 5000 pesos to pay and as we arrive i ask for my change and he tells me its 5000 pesos to go to the reserva, so yup, we payed $10 to go to this place. and as we arrive the lady charges us each $6.00 to enter.  So we gave up the idea of just chilling and reading the book of mormon and decided to actually go on the round hike so take advantage of how expensive this trip suddenly got.
So we start out on the trail and while we´re hiking we called a member to come pick us up at the end so we wouldn´t have to pay another taxi.  So she said she could and that she´d meet us at laguna verde, so we look at our map and laguna verde is on the complete other side.  So we had 3hrs and figured it´d be enough time to get to laguna verde, have lunch and chill a bit.  Sooo, as we´re walking we arrived at a look-out, took some pictures and started down the trail again, but the trail had changed to a road for cars, i asked Hna Sambranos if this was our trail and she assured me that it was. Well, to make a really long story a little shorter, it wasn´t our trail.  So what happened was without knowing it until the very end we had backtracked on another trail almost to the beginning of the trail.  and made a HUGE loop to get to laguna verde.  when we arrived, we found the trail we had been on and that we were literally 2 minutes away from our destination when we took a wrong turn and walked in a huge circle for 1 1/2 hrs.    We arrived right as the hermana arrived to pick us up, so we never did get our chill time nor our lunch.   F.A.I.L  but, i feel super great/healthy  (apart from the fact that i´m exhausted and sore)  but it was like the good old days going on hikes with dad :)

As for the rest of my week,  it was a week of opposition, Saturday all our appointments got canceled and people weren´t home because it was a beautiful day so everyone left to go enjoy it (i don´t blame them)   The one visit we did have was a bit depressing.  Manuel and Gabriela really are looking for the truth, they were attending church for almost a whole year but felt they hadn´t recieved an answer, so they started studying with the adventistas and other churches and are now super confused, so we taught them a super spiritual lesson but at the end told us that if we continue to pass by they only want to read and study the bible and don´t want us saying our church is true.  So we testified of prayer and that its the only way for them to recieve an answer and left broken-hearted.  Why are so many churches confusing the people!  it just broke my heart to see a beautiful family on the right path but the voices of the other churches was louder and they slipped away.

but after that discouraging day, God blessed us with the best sunday of my whole mission!  Everyone came to church! all the part-member families that we´re teaching, our investigators, it was a beautiful sight.  I about leaped out of my seat when i saw familia Vasquez enter. haha, i´ve never been so happy so see anyone at church before :)

Ok, i heard the best story every and i died laughing, we were teaching Nefi, a 10yr old who´s gonna be baptized in november and his parents told us a story from when he first starting visiting with the missionaries. hahaha.  So the elders were teaching him how to pray and they tell him you just have to say ¨Padre Celestial¨ and then say what you want...  well Nefi heard a bit wrong, and starts with confidence his prayer and says, ¨Our dear Padre Sebastian¨ ..... yeah that prayer didn´t last very long as there was an awkward silence and everone bursts out laughing.

Embarrasing moment of the week:  we were walking (big surprise there) and i was a bit bored so i started singing a song that Hna Oross taught me,  it goes likes this ¨i lo-lo-love to pla-la-lay on my-ly-ly banjo-lo-lo...¨ and that for the whole song, so after singing it for 10 minutes straight, we pass by a huge group of youth and i say all excited ¨Hola-la!!!¨   haha, yeah bad idea to sing that song....

well, life is great!  we had intercambios this week so we traveled to Aysen, its the prettiest route in the world!

I love you all!!!!

Gringos

Hola!

Well, this week flew by.  We had conference with Presidente and the APs.  It was super weird.  I went from being in the biggest zone to the smallest.  So in the whole conference there were only 12 other missionaries.  But it made it more special/personal.  So the problem with that is that when president asked for a special musical number no one else plays the piano or sings.  So last minute i ended up singing a solo for the zone conference and playing the piano.  but it went ok (i was still recuperating from my bad cold so it was....interesting hahah)
So random story, the day before conference our investigator randomly gave me a super cheap toy bike, so the next day when i saw Elder Fotheringham i gave him the bike with a note that told him i found his bike and to keep it safe from the police and from dad ;) he got a kick out of that.

This week i discovered the true opinion of Latinos about Gringos....and its not too good. hahah.  Basically as Americans (but they told me the missionaries don´t count haha)  we rob other cultures and have no sense of style and our language is corrupt and messed up.  haha,  it was quite an interesting conversation with this recent convert.  They ended up basically giving me lessons on how to be latina so that i´ll be more attractive when i get home.... i really don´t understand how the conversation changed from the lesson we were giving to that... that is the talent of Chileans.

The miracle of the week:  So Jorge as a baptismal date for the 24th of Oct, but he has to marry Veronica first. They want to be married but the government was on Paro (I don´t remember the word in english but basically, it was closed cuz the people are trying to change their rights or something,) so for the last week its been closed adn time is ticking down for the baptismal date, so for this fast sunday we all fasted for this. that same night the elders called us telling us the the Paro ended and that its now open!!!  God listens to our Fasts and Prayers!

I Hope all is well!  thanks for all the emails! i love you all!

Happy, smilie face!

Hola Familia!

General Conference was amazing!!!!  That´s basically my week. just waiting and working until conference and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.  I was so grateful, my ZLs gave me permission to watch it in english with them and my DL.  Conference is just one thing that´s not the same in spanish listening to the profet and apostles with different voices.   After the Sat. Afternoon session Hna Sambranos and I wanted to see the priesthood session, so we had our meeting with our Mission Leader and tried to stay for the priesthood session but the district president kicked us out. :P  so we went the Hna gomez´s house (who lives right next to us) and watched it with her :)   I can´t even express how much i love conference.    But i was doing so good at not being trunky until i saw conference. haha, Elder Holland´s and Elder Hale´s talks got me a bit trunky ;)  haha, but nothing i can´t fix.

I don´t understand how people can be so blind!  We have an investigator, the husband of one sister in the branch, and he told us that while meeting with the missionaries before he had a dream that a brother in the ward told him the church is true.  And he STILL thinks he hasn´t recieved an answer from God.  WHAT?!  I about died when he told us that.  for an answer to be so clear and a person to be so blind.  How in the world...  after that lesson my companion was making fun of my face when i was teaching because it was apparently quite obvious that i was dumbfounded that it just didn´t click for him.  haha.

The work is going great here.  we´re just enjoying every minute :)  there really isn´t much to say....

I Love you all tons! The church is true!

Hola from Coyhaique.

SS Ok, sorry i was so down in my last letter, i just wasn´t expecting transfers at all.  But i know that God knows better than us.  I absolutely LOVE Coyhaique!!!!!  its not like any of my other sectors in many different ways.
first off, I´m free from the rain!!!!!!! :D  whohooo!!!!  no more rain!  at least not nearly as much.  there´s actually sun here! and even though we´re super far south, the temperature is actually super nice.  but apparently the ozone layer is broken here or something like that so there´s a lot of radiation, so i might just return home with cancer, but its all worth it right? There´s sun, that´s the only important thing! and the weird thing is that the people told me that here during the summer the sun rises at 5am and sets after 11:00pm.  that´ll be a nice change :) easier to wake up and easier to work at 9:30 at night!
Its sooooo pretty here!  its more out in the country (my type of place) :) surrounded by rolling hills/mini mountains.
The people here are so welcoming! I´m gonna love this branch that i´m in!

My new companion is Hna Sambrano from Peru!  from huanuco (no idea where that is in Peru)   but she´s amazing, i love her to death!  she´s trying really hard to learn english, so she´s also helping prep me to return home so i can actually communicate with you guys ;)

so today we went on a bit of an adventure to take pictures and such, so there was a beautiful look out, but i wanted better pictures so i climbed over the lookout deck.  went i went to climb back up, i swung my leg up and hit some weird metal thing that was there.  i didn´t think to much about it, even though it did hurt, and literally, while sitting here i just realized my leggings have blood stains running down them....uhmm whoops....haha  but the pictures turned out super cool, so its all worth it!

so a picture is worth a thousand words right?  right. so i don´t have to say much today cuz i sent billions of words with all those pictures i sent.

i love you all!  please stop going trunky on me!
