I've never been happier!

Wow it was an amazing week!!!

first off, mom, i`m sorry about your foot, that´s no fun at all :(  lo siento.  i hope it heals quickly and you can still enjoy your trip to Hawaii.  On the positive side, you still have one good foot! ...  now just be careful to keep it that way...

So al final, Gina decided she wants her daughter to be here for her baptism, which is a noble desire, so her baptismal date is now set for Sep 18.  which is super great cuz sep 18 is the biggest holliday here in Chile, so no one works, we`re going to have her baptism and the rest of the day a grand party with the ward. so it`ll be sweet :)

My new companion is here, Hna Oross, and i couldn´t be more excited!!!! she is amazing!!! we´ve already seen so much progress in this sector in the past 2 days, and i know its cuz we work together super well and have the same goals and such.  seriously, i love her with all my heart, and i was needing someone like her.  she has so much energy, spirit, enthusiasm and relates a lot to me so i feel free to speak.  I know this sector is going to progress a ton  and honestly i`m praying that i can just finish my mission in this sector. i know it´d be 7 months in one area but its possible.

This week was stake conference, so you know what that means......  i saw practically everyone from my first sector in portal del mar!!!!!!!  it was like Christmas!!!! actually, they asked me to sing for the conference so i whipped up a quick number and sang in the  conference, and after, it was a like a mob, everyone from portal running up to me to hug me, i`m never been so happy in all my life :)

y eso....  yeah, life is good.   mom, you told me you hoped things were slowing down a bit cuz everything was so crazy. i can tell you now that that is not going to happen.  we´re going to be running aroung a ton.  we´re already starting exchanges 1 week late because of the interesting transfer we had so we have to have 4 this week.  its gonna be loco.  but that´s what makes the mission wonderful, running around from place to place always having something to do. :)  and i hope to keep it that way until the day i come home :)

i love you all!!!!

I can't believe it! A baptism.

Ok, so this week was crazy but wonderful!!!

so i told you about my new AP last week right?  So this week we had leader´s training with all the Zls, Presidente and the APs.  As we´re sitting down eating lunch i started talking to Elder Fotheringham and he told me an interesting story that dad failed to mention to me.  hahaha,   so apparently when he was 15 he hid his bike in our yard for one reason or another.  So dad found his bike and thought that it was a stolen bike that someone trashed in our yard, so dad turned this bike in to the police. so when Brett Fotheringham went back to pick up his bike it was no where to be found.  So he came to our house, knocking on our door asking if we had seen his bike.  So Dad answers the door and tells him that he brought his bike to the police, elder Fotheringham obviously wasn´t too happy with that. haha.  so he argued a bit with dad and then had to go to the police and fill out a bunch of papers to get his bike back.  When he told me and all the elders this story i about died. hhahaha, that is something dad would do :)   I hope there´s no hard feeling there or i´m not gonna get permission do to anything. haha
Random fact, Cassi and Lindz must´ve given really good talks in church cuz he remembered exactly what you guys talked about.

So this week was transfers but Hna Davila doesn´t leave until this Friday.  Transfers is crazy as Hna leader, we were running around for 3 days picking up Hnas and bringing them to the bus terminal.  on Wed we literally were at the bus terminal from 6:45am-8pm.  i about died being stuck inside all day long. at one point i just couldn´t handle sitting there waiting so i went outside and just ran back and forth for 5 min.  i felt like a little kid who can´t sit still for more than 5 min and has to run around to let out there energy.

Gina´s gonna be baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D   last night we visited her and talked a bunch about the fall of Adam and Eve, she loves deep doctrine so it was a super intense lesson.  then as she prayed at the end of the lesson she started crying, it was the most sincere, powerful prayer that i´ve heard.  as she finished her prayer she just looks up crying and says she wants to be baptized.  we asked her when and she said as soon as possible :D     so if all goes well chances are she´ll be baptized this weekend.  we´re gonna visit her today to put a specific date for her baptism :)

I know that this church is true, i know it with all my heart.  I love this work that i´ve been called here to do. Its not easy, there are so many moments of disappointment, so many challenges, but its amazing to see that despite all that, everything is worth it, the joy and happiness of seeing this gospel change the lives of people heavily outweighs the hardships and pain.  This gospel is my happiness, my joy it is my light and my life.  I love it with all my heart, i love my Savior and I love my God.  We are never alone in this world.  I have felt the love of God more than ever this past week and i can never deny that He live, that He loves us and that we are His children.

I love you all so much. thanks for everything you do :)

Cambios

Whelp, its week of transfers!!! i couldn´t be more excited. Presidente Obeso called us last night with our transfers.  i´m staying here and next week hna Davila is off to valdivia and Hna Oross (from California) is coming here with me.  I met Hna Oross in Valdivia.  we randomly ran into her and her companion and had lunch with them one p-day.  she´s amazing so i´m super super excited!
guess what else, my new ZL is my district leader from the CCM! elder sandstrum. and the new president´s assistent just happens to be Elder Fatheringham. (my companion was telling me this week how we somehow have to gain the trust/friendship of the APs so that we can recieve special permission to do stuff)  well guess what, i´ve already got that cuz we went to school together. ;)

so, we went on a bit of an adventure this week...There´s a part of our sector that´s out in the country.  This week we had an appointment with a less active family that just happens to live out in the country.  So we take the bus as far as it goes, and when we get off there was a huge factory of some sort. so my companion starts down the road on the left of this building.  little did we know that the road we needed to take was just on the other side of this building.  so we walk and walk and walk down this road in the middle of nowhere.  eventually we saw a small population of houses and headed toward them with so much hope.  yeah, so we finally arrive and discover that it was not the place we were looking for.  so thinking it was a giant U we just continued walking forward.  the road was not a giant U...   randomly we encountered a huge pond in the middle of our ¨road¨ and had to find a way around it which included walking through a ton of poky bushes.    then right as we conquer that little obstacle and we´re still laughing about it, we suddenly walk up to a huge crater in the middle of the road.  there was no way around it for it was surrounded by millions of thorny bushes.  so i figured the only way to the other side was climbing down the crater and back up the other side.  so with some difficulties we finally made it to the other side only to find that there was no road at all.   so we just kept walking to where we knew would eventually lead to the main road.  we finally found a small town and followed the road we found there to the main road.  5 yards before we reached the main road we found a sign that said ¨villa fitz roy¨ (our inicial destination)   but by this time it was dark and we had another appointment to get to.  so we never did make it to visit that less active family....  but we did have a great adventure wandering in the middle of nowhere for 2+ hours.  haha

This was a week of miracles.  I was honestly giving up hope with Daniella, she was super clear the other day that she wanted to continue in the catholic church.  but suddenly, i don´t know what made her change her mind (the spirit obviously), but she had a change of heart and as we went to visit her 2 days ago randomly told us that she´s stopped drinking coffee and she´s been reading in the book of mormon!  so she accepted a baptismal date again for the end of this month!
and Gina told us that she´s not accepting a baptismal date because she knows her family will reject her and her decision. but then yesterday she said it doesn´t matter if they accept it or not, she wants to be baptized!!!! :D

I´m so excited for this new cambio. i have a million goals/ideas of how to help this sector. I´ve just got to give it my all.
 ¨sprint to the finish¨

love you all!!!

What happened this week?

Hola mi familia!!!!
first off, I can´t believe Jenny´s pregnant!!!! :D   and so the baby´s gonna come right when i´m getting home?  Hey uh, dad, can i go to CA for a week or so when i get back? ;)
Thanks for all the letters! i finally got my birthday letters hehe.  but it was perfect cuz i got them on my birthday in the mission.  Feliz 1 año en la mision!
So it was pretty sweet actually cuz on July 30th (my 1 year in the mission) we had conference with presidente and so we were with 2 different zones which meant I was with a bunch of missionaries from my group in the CCM so we all celebrated together.  And as we´re taking pictures together with a sign that said ´feliz 1 año´ and we´re all super happy, our ZLs surprised us and whipped out our carta moroni, the letter you get when your finishing up your mission and they need your info for your flight home.  yeah, so i didn´t know whether to smile or cry in our pictures. hahah.  i can´t believe i only have 6 months left. :(

So we´re still working with Daniela, we just have to exercise patience and take a step back to help her gain a testimony again.   but the miracle of this week was Gina.  Gina has been an investigator for over a year and has been attending church for the past 4ish months.  but recently she stopped going and when we visited her she suddenly was super determined to gain a testimony of her own because when she wasn´t attending church everything suddenly went wrong in her life and now she´s without work and money.  So she was super determined to read/listen to all the Book of mormon.  so yesterday she came to church and told us that she had been listening to the book of mormon while she was sleeping and she woke up 3 times in the night and each time found her face wet with tears. and she could feel that her spirit was trying to tell her ¨why haven´t you realized that this is true yet¨   I´m exploding with excitement!  she´s sí o sí gonna be baptized this month.  she still has a bunch of fear that if she accepts a baptismal date satan is gonna attack her 10x more and for that still hasn´t accepted a specific date. but she´s gonna be baptized!!!!!! :D

hmm...what else,  transfers are next week.  my companion´s off to who knows where. she´s only been in this sector for 7 months now.   but at least, we had a good talk and so we´ve been on better terms lately.  i just had to learn to be understanding and submissive.  i had to overcome the side of me that naturally wants to do the opposite when someone is ordering me to do something (in a not too nice way).  So i feel like i´ve learned a lot this past transfer although it was one of the hardest. But I´ve learned to love my companion, she truly is an amazing missionary and very determined to have success.

random awkward moment of the week:  so we´re sitting eating lunch and as my companion´s telling a story i randomly decided to throw my spoon across the table (it slipped through  my fingers, (name that movie?))  and it landed in a bowl of soup splashing it all over the table.  when the family asked me what happened i just responded i was adding special affects to my companion´s story.  hahah

So today with a bunch of Hnas we went to the pichi pelluco beach, played volleyball, had a picnic and all that good stuff.  at one point one of the hnas needed to use the bathroom so we had to cross the beach to get to the building that had a bathroom, but as we crossed we found a river that branched off in a million parts, so thinking we could cross easily we started jumping over the little streams only to realize each one was bigger and bigger.  long story short, we never reached the other side and ended up returning with our shoes and socks soaking wet. haha.

well, i´m thoroughly enjoying myself in this sector, loving the mission.

i love you all tons!

love,
Hna Hebdon la segunda
