first off, I can´t believe Jenny´s pregnant!!!! :D and so the baby´s gonna come right when i´m getting home? Hey uh, dad, can i go to CA for a week or so when i get back? ;)
Thanks for all the letters! i finally got my birthday letters hehe. but it was perfect cuz i got them on my birthday in the mission. Feliz 1 año en la mision!
So it was pretty sweet actually cuz on July 30th (my 1 year in the mission) we had conference with presidente and so we were with 2 different zones which meant I was with a bunch of missionaries from my group in the CCM so we all celebrated together. And as we´re taking pictures together with a sign that said ´feliz 1 año´ and we´re all super happy, our ZLs surprised us and whipped out our carta moroni, the letter you get when your finishing up your mission and they need your info for your flight home. yeah, so i didn´t know whether to smile or cry in our pictures. hahah. i can´t believe i only have 6 months left. :(
So we´re still working with Daniela, we just have to exercise patience and take a step back to help her gain a testimony again. but the miracle of this week was Gina. Gina has been an investigator for over a year and has been attending church for the past 4ish months. but recently she stopped going and when we visited her she suddenly was super determined to gain a testimony of her own because when she wasn´t attending church everything suddenly went wrong in her life and now she´s without work and money. So she was super determined to read/listen to all the Book of mormon. so yesterday she came to church and told us that she had been listening to the book of mormon while she was sleeping and she woke up 3 times in the night and each time found her face wet with tears. and she could feel that her spirit was trying to tell her ¨why haven´t you realized that this is true yet¨ I´m exploding with excitement! she´s sí o sí gonna be baptized this month. she still has a bunch of fear that if she accepts a baptismal date satan is gonna attack her 10x more and for that still hasn´t accepted a specific date. but she´s gonna be baptized!!!!!! :D
hmm...what else, transfers are next week. my companion´s off to who knows where. she´s only been in this sector for 7 months now. but at least, we had a good talk and so we´ve been on better terms lately. i just had to learn to be understanding and submissive. i had to overcome the side of me that naturally wants to do the opposite when someone is ordering me to do something (in a not too nice way). So i feel like i´ve learned a lot this past transfer although it was one of the hardest. But I´ve learned to love my companion, she truly is an amazing missionary and very determined to have success.
random awkward moment of the week: so we´re sitting eating lunch and as my companion´s telling a story i randomly decided to throw my spoon across the table (it slipped through my fingers, (name that movie?)) and it landed in a bowl of soup splashing it all over the table. when the family asked me what happened i just responded i was adding special affects to my companion´s story. hahah
So today with a bunch of Hnas we went to the pichi pelluco beach, played volleyball, had a picnic and all that good stuff. at one point one of the hnas needed to use the bathroom so we had to cross the beach to get to the building that had a bathroom, but as we crossed we found a river that branched off in a million parts, so thinking we could cross easily we started jumping over the little streams only to realize each one was bigger and bigger. long story short, we never reached the other side and ended up returning with our shoes and socks soaking wet. haha.
well, i´m thoroughly enjoying myself in this sector, loving the mission.
i love you all tons!
love,
Hna Hebdon la segunda
